Pulled ‘Pork’ Bao Buns

Homemade Bao Buns ✔️

Bao Buns (Makes 10 to 12 Steamed Buns) Ingredients: 370 grams All-Purpose Flour 1 Cup Warm Water 2 Tbsp Sugar 1 ½ tsp Active Yeast 1 ½ tsp Baking Powder 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil Sesame Oil, for brushing Steamer Basket Parchment Paper Recipe: Put the warm water in a measuring cup & add in sugar. Stir until sugar has dissolved and then add in yeast. Stir to mix. Set aside for 10-15 minutes or until the yeast mixture is frothy. Place flour and baking powder into a large bowl and mix well. Pour in yeast mixture and vegetable oil. Mix until everything is combined, you will have to switch to using your hands. Knead the dough for about 10 to 13 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl and with saran wrap. Set aside in a warm place for about 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size. Place dough on a floured board. Divide into 2 portions. Roll each piece into logs and then cut each log into 5 to 6 pieces. Gather the dough into round balls. Let the dough rest for another 10 minutes. Roll each piece of dough out into 4 ½ to 5 inch circles. Brush the surface with sesame oil and fold the dough in half. Place dough on a parchment paper and place in steamer. Set the steamer on high heat and steam buns over boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes.

Pit Boss Bao Bun Recipe (makes about 10-12 buns) Ingredients: steamed bao buns vegan sriracha mayo fresh cilantro 1 peeled and sliced cucumber 1 large scallion chopped 1 Cup warm water 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar 2 Tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. dried dill ½ tsp. pink salt 1 Package No Evil Foods Pit Boss Pulled ‘Pork’ BBQ ½ tsp. dried ginger 1 tsp. favorite bbq sauce ¼ tsp. Garlic Powder Pinch of red pepper flakes Recipe: Place warm water and sugar in a bowl, stir until sugar melts. Add in rice vinegar, salt, sliced cucumber, dill and scallions. Place in fridge and allow time to marinade (half hour the least). In a pan heat oil of choice over medium heat and add in Pit Boss Pulled ‘Pork”. Stir in bbq sauce, garlic powder, dried ginger and red pepper flakes. Cook stirring occasionally, allowing some pieces to crisp and brown. Assembly: Spoon 1 tsp. of Pit Boss into bao buns, add sliced cucumbers and scallions from marinade mixture.Top with sriracha mayo and fresh cilantro.
